Ulrich LaFosse, P.E.

Mr. LaFosse has over twenty-five years experience as a geotechnical engineer. He has had prime technical and administrative responsibility for projects covering all phases of geotechnical engineering and environmental site restoration. John E. Lens, P.E.  

Mr. Lens has over twenty-five years of geotechnical and construction experience. His responsibilities as project manager and principal on major projects have included planning and directing field exploration programs; in situ and laboratory soil and rock testing programs; engineering analyses for bridges, embankments and fills over soft ground, and tunnels; preparation of construction documents; and construction monitoring, including geotechnical instrumentation programs. He has also worked closely with owner's field personnel during construction in providing regular on-site evaluations, review of monitoring data, review of contractor submittals, and addressing special construction issues.

 

Mr. Lens is also an active participant in the Vermont engineering community serving as board member on two professional organizations, and on the advisory board to the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Vermont .

Timothy F. Carr, L.E.P.

Mr. Carr has over twenty-five years experience as an environmental professional. He is Manager of Environmental Services for GeoDesign and responsible for the implementation of environmental site investigations of commercial and industrial facilities. He is a Connecticut Licensed Environmental Professional in accordance with Section 22a-133v of the Connecticut General Statutes. His experience includes evaluating environmental risks associated with historic land uses, developing site information from interviews, implementing subsurface exploration and analysis programs, oversight of underground tank removals, field analytical techniques, and designing and performing environmental remediation. These skills have been successfully combined with the reuse and redevelopment of contaminated properties.

Early in his career, Mr. Carr worked as a field inspector for the Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection Hazardous Waste Management Section conducting investigations under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, Transfer Act for Hazardous Waste Establishments, and other environmental statutes. The combination of environmental agency and consulting experience makes him especially well-suited to identify environmental issues and providing effective solutions.
